About The Event

Did you know that San Diego County has one of the highest concentrations of cleantech companies in the nation?

Attend the April luncheon to find out what you need to know to get your PR firm into the industry or how to help your current green, energy or cleantech clients succeed.

There have been many emerging trends coming from the energy sector and most recently the industry has been growing quickly in the areas of greentech, cleantech, smart grid, smart meters, renewable energy and energy management.

At the April 20 PRSA luncheon, a panel of PR and media experts will share their best practices and biggest challenges, and how you can use this information to apply it to your own agency or company. Learn how the future of the industry is evolving and how you can evolve with it.

Learn:

  • What these industry companies look for in a PR firm
  • About the spotlight the media has put on the industry and why
  • How to increase your industry knowledge and get new clients
  • Where the future of the industry is headed and how you can be with it

Doug Kline, director of corporate communications for Sempra Energy, will discuss how this Fortune 500 company has changed with the industry, as well as the national and local media landscape, and what the future of public relations for the energy industry holds.

Loren Nancarrow, Emmy and Golden Mike award winning television reporter, weather forecaster, environmental activist, author, and organic gardening guru, will share his expertise on the issues of reporting about the environment, as well as why he decided to transition to the energy industry with Sequoia Solar and head up their business development efforts and act as company spokesperson.

Karen Hutchens, president of Hutchens PR, has a focus on many segments within the energy sector and is a public relations strategist who specializes in public affairs issue management and corporate and crisis communications.
