Webinar: Building Community Trust: Overcoming Critics, Bloviators and Opposition
8/9/2012 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Rock Church and Academy
2277 Rosecrans Street
San Diego, CA 92106
PRSA SD/IC invites you to participate in this special webinar led by James E. Lukaszewski, ABC, APR, Fellow PRSA. There are two options for participation: from your own computer or join us in the Community Room at Rock Church and Academy.
Very few successful businesses, organizations or individuals can afford to ignore what their employees, the public or key audiences think, say and do about them. This is especially true when the issues or questions are explosive, corrosive or emotional. Those who do ignore their publics risk negative consequences and marketplace, community or workplace disruption, and a serious loss of community trust.
This is a powerful program about preserving, protecting, enhancing and defending your trust relationship in your community while overcoming opposition, critics, bloviators and bellyachers.
You will learn:
- Direct communication strategies that satisfy key constituent needs and reduce media power
- The techniques to control and contain attacks
- To control your own destiny by correcting and clarifying misinformation
- To forecast the patterns of opposition power and behavior
- To avoid the six myths of communication
- The five axioms of influence
- To influence public attitudes while reducing the media's power
If you plan to attend our group session at Rock Church and Academy, plan on arriving by 9:45 a.m. to get parked and checked in. Please park in the back part of Trader Joe’s parking lot and proceed to the main entrance of Rock Church. The webinar will be held in Rock's Community Room, located next to the lobby security desk.
